Francis Farewell Starlite, enigmatic frontman of Francis and the Lights, writes music that makes him want to dance. Far from the relentless booty-shaking electro that the kids are into these days, his songs inspire motion in a frenetic but sensual way. Part disco funk, part Blue Eyed Soul, Francis carefully crafts and curates all of the elements that make their way into his recordings and live shows to create his distinct sound.

Busy weekend! Not only are we excited to see how this Cultural Pop-Up Festival Preview (say that five times fast) pans out, there’s plenty of other awesome happening as well. Let’s just say there will be no shortage of opportunities to shake it this weekend.

Oh, baseball season. While the whole city is cramming themselves onto the Green Line or scrambling to win an Olympic Gold Medal for the sole purpose of getting out on that field (OK maybe she had a different agenda, but whatever), TeaParty has been plugging along at our usual pace gathering some choice items for your weekend enjoyment. None of them involve baseball– we’re sure you already know where to get that fix.

Happy March! We are now officially into “Seriously?! It’s still snowing?!” territory. You’ve already forgotten all your New Years resolutions and eaten all of that Valentine’s Day candy you bought for yourself, but it’s still not quite Spring time yet (damn groundhog). Don’t worry, we’ve put together a list of thing to do in the meantime.

This is not the weekend that is supposed to be about love– but Friday is chock full of sounds suited to both lovemaking and heartbreaking. Luckily Saturday is all about the party and Sunday brings us some fish and fondue. Delicious!
