By now you may have noticed our snappy new events calendar holding it down over on the Events Calendar page– but we thought we’d keep up the habit of highlighting some of our favorite happenings each weekend.

What happens when 5 rival ice cream vendors cross paths in a parking lot in Somerville? Sunday’s Ice Cream Showdown at Grand had the makings of turning into that news team riot scene from Anchorman, but everyone was too busy scooping delicious frozen treats into tiny cups and then out of said tiny cups and into their faces.

TPB loves Union Square’s Grand. The proximity to not only our home bases but also the Union Square Farmer’s Market and some of our favorite coffee joints makes it a favorite stop on weekend strolls through the ‘hood. Not to mention the fact that the space looks pretty much exactly how we would like our future hypothetical TeaParty office to look like except, you know, we’d probably need some desks. Bright open space? Check. Quirky lighting? Check. Fun objets d’arte? Check. Cute dog? Check. Bar? Check.
