THE ARMORY GETS THE BLUES: Jazz & Blues Festival

Arts at the Armory hosts two nights of powerhouse acts as part of Mayor Curtatone’s First Annual Joe’s Jazz & Blues Fest and the girls of TeaParty Boston will be there! We are so excited about the list of phenomenal acts that will be playing at the stunning Armory in Somerville, MA. Come out and celebrate on Thursday June 25 and Saturday June 27!
Barrence Whitfield and the Savages, Four Piece Suit, and Dwight and Nicole appear on Thursday, June 25, for a huge night of funk, R&B, soul, surf and swing. With three fabulous acts in one amazing venue, the evening is sure to be the party of the summer. Tickets are $12.50 in advance, $15 at the door.
“A Night of Torch Songs,” Saturday, June 27, features the sultry jazz and blues of Nina Simone, Dinah Washington, and Billie Holiday. Local rock, folk, alternative, and jazz musicians offer fresh interpretations of love gone awry lyrics and life gone wrong songs. As true today as when they were first performed, these timeless melodies are tragic at some turns, boisterous at others, and tinged with just the right touch of nostalgia. Tickets are $7.00 in advance and at the door.
